For the best results, we recommend installing your building on a well-prepared, level gravel foundation to ensure stability and proper drainage. If a gravel base isn't possible, concrete blocks offer a solid alternative.

Concrete Block Foundation — A Simple Shed Setup

A go-to option for smaller sheds and cabins — simple, effective, and budget-friendly. Start with well-compacted soil (no loose or freshly filled dirt unless it's packed tight); for leveling, we may use a mix of blocks and shims. Keep the shed under 3 feet high to help with stability and access.

You'll need to supply your own blocks, but we'll install and level the shed as part of your free shed delivery. Need blocks? Our delivery driver can bring extras for just $3 each.

Gravel Pad Foundation — Durable & Built to Last

A solid, long-lasting base that provides excellent drainage, helps prevent settling, and keeps doors and windows working smoothly — especially important for portable garages and larger buildings (we require it for garages).

We use compacted #57 gravel and build the pad with treated 4x4s, extending it 2 feet beyond the shed size for extra support. We'll gladly assist with planning and can connect you with trusted local contractors.

Concrete Pad Foundation — The Strongest Choice for Long-Term Use

The most durable, permanent foundation — the most stable option, resisting settling over time, ideal for structures meant to stay put for the long haul. It's also the most labor-intensive and costly foundation type, but the long-term benefits are worth it.

We require a concrete pad for all of our custom on-site garages, and it works great for any shed type. We'll gladly provide the specs for your slab or footers to ensure everything's properly supported.

Good to Know

Over time, your shed may settle and require re-leveling, which we offer for an additional fee. Always check with your local municipality for zoning regulations or required permits — many areas have setback requirements that dictate how far your shed must be placed from property lines or structures.
