Discover the History of Esh's Utility Buildings
It all began back in 1984, under the shade of a tree in North Carolina. Our founder, John Esh, started building sheds with his seven sons right in their backyard. After school, they'd gather together to handcraft each portable building and storage shed, one at a time, with care and attention to detail. Over time, the family's dedication to quality and honesty helped build a reputation that customers could trust.
As the years passed and more buildings were delivered to happy homes, the small family business continued to grow. At the heart of everything we do is a commitment to the values John held dear — honesty, integrity, hard work, and a deep belief that our work is a reflection of God's blessing. These principles have shaped the way we serve our customers and care for our community.
In 2019, the Gingerich family, longtime friends of the Esh family, took over the reins of the business. Like the Eshes, the Gingerichs are guided by faith, and they bring the same passion for quality and dedication to serving others. With strong roots in the community and a shared commitment to doing things the right way, the Gingerichs are proud to continue the legacy of building sheds that stand the test of time.
While the faces at the business may have changed, our core values remain the same. We believe in doing business with honesty, treating others with respect, and always striving for excellence. We're grateful for God's provision and the trust our customers place in us, and we look forward to continuing this journey with you — serving you with the same dedication and care that has always been at the heart of our company.

Esh's Cares
Each year we hold the Esh's Care Shed Giveaway to bless someone who's in need of a shed. We're open to candidate suggestions — then we pray over them as a team and follow God's leading on who to bless.
We've had some rich experiences through this annual tradition, and we look forward to many more. Here are just some of the people God has allowed us to meet and be inspired by.
