Customizable Options on the Ranch Tiny Home
Exterior & Colors
We’ll build your tiny home shell with whatever exterior you choose: vinyl, stained wood, painted wood, metal, or log siding. Combined with a metal or shingle roof, there are 100s of possible color combinations.
Structural Changes
Upgrade your tiny home shell roof to a steeper 7/12-pitch and add dormers or a cupola. For heavy use, upgrade floor joist spacing to 12″ on-center and add pressure-treated plywood flooring.
Windows & Doors
We offer a variety of windows from 18×27 through 30×36, as well as transom windows, flower boxes, and shutters. Various doors are available, including single doors, double doors, and roll-up doors.
Vents
Gable vents and/or ridge vent will help to keep your tiny home shell cool, well-ventilated, and free of excess moisture build-up. We have various gable vent styles available, including rectangles and octagons.
Porch Styles for the Ranch Tiny Home
The Corner Porch
This is the simplest porch available on our Ranch tiny home shells. Corner porch dimensions are 4’x8’ and it features a railing, a window w/shutters, and a walk-in single door.
The Front Porch
Dimensions on this porch are 4’ across the full width of your tiny home. Railing, a window w/shutters, and a walk-in single door are also included for portable cabins.
The Deluxe Porch
This is our premier design, covering the full front of the tiny home and wrapping around the side. It includes a railing, several windows, and a walk-in single door.
Standard Features on the Ranch Tiny Home Shell
Our Ranch Tiny Home Shells are built to the 2018 IRC and come standard with:
- 2×8 floor joists and rim board on 4×6 skids; all joists and skids are pressure-treated
- ¾” tongue-and-groove flooring with a 50-year warranty
- 7’ 4” walls framed at 16” on-center with top and bottom wall plates
- 2×6 double headers at windows and doors in your finished cabin
- Boxed-in corner studs for easily finishing the interior of your portable cabin
- Trusses with steel gussets, framed at 16” on-center
- A double door with a metal diamond-plate threshold
- Felt paper beneath roofing materials for increased roof longevity
- 2×6 rafters with collar ties and hurricane clips at every rafter
- Drip edge on all edges of the portable cabin roof
- 6” to 8” roof overhangs, boxed in and finished with the same material as the siding
- A 10-year workmanship warranty on all finished portable cabins for sale in KY & TN
