How Do I Buy a Shed?
Do you have a vague mental picture of your dream building, but now you’re stuck with how to make it a reality. We get it. That’s why we’ve made the process accessible in six easy steps.
We don’t think folks should get stuck with generic prefab buildings, so we work hard to help each customer find or create the structure that’s perfect for them. Whether it’s a small cabin, a portable garage, or simply a storage shed, we believe each project deserves attention to detail & the best craftsmanship.
Phase 1: Find Your Building
First, you have to identify your need, plan your solution, and finalize the details. But don’t stress! Our team of experts is more than excited to answer any question you may have along the way. Okay, ready to get started?
1. IDENTIFY YOUR NEED
When thinking about a new building, it can be daunting to know what to do first. But really, the first step is to ask yourself valuable questions:
- What building or structure do I need in order to improve my daily life?
- What are the specific functions that are non negotiable? What are my preferences?
- What budget do I have for this project? Are there aspects I’m willing to pay more for?
2. PLAN YOUR SOLUTION
At Esh’s, we prioritize quality and attention to detail. Because we want you to be fully satisfied with your new building, we provide three options:
- Choose a pre-built structure from our inventory and reserve it with a 10% deposit.
- Design your own ideal building in the 3D Builder. Then submit a Free Quote Request.
- Come to our physical location and talk to our sales experts to get further assistance.
3. FINALIZE YOUR SOLUTION
Congrats! You’ve chosen your dream building! Now, it’s time to complete the following three tasks in order to finalize some details:
- Choose a Finance Plan: Rent-To-Own, Buy-Now-Pay-Later, or Pay in Full.
- Sign the necessary paperwork and make a down payment.
- Receive all the necessary permits from your local government (i.e. shed permits in KY).

Phase 2: Site Prep and Delivery
Success! You’ve found the perfect building, signed the paperwork, and figured out your needed building permits. Now, it’s time to continue forward with three delivery and installation steps.

Choose the Site
Before we deliver, it’s important to consider the feasibility of adding a building to your property. Watch out for obstacles such as gates, buildings, & trees affecting your clearance. Additionally, it’s important to consider the following points when communicating with our team:
- Buildings can extend up to 11-13 feet off the ground.
- The steepness of the terrain can greatly impact reaching the intended location.
- Send photos and videos of your land gives the team extra clarity.

Choose Your Foundation
For optimal results,
it is suggested that structures be installed on a well-prepared site with a leveled gravel base. However, if this is not feasible, concrete blocks may be used. Customers can choose one of the following foundations:
- Laser-Leveled Gravel Pad Setup (an extra sturdy option for sheds)
- On the Ground Leveled with Block Setup (very common set up in Kentucky and Tennessee)
- Solid Poured Level Concrete Pad Setup

Enjoy Your Building
Finally, the moment you have been anticipating: delivery! Dispatch will call to schedule the delivery and the driver will call on the day of delivery to confirm the schedule. But in order to ensure you and our team are on the same page, we’ve outlined some expectations to consider. Keep in mind:
- Delivery will occur about 5-10 days after your building is finished
- Our delivery extends throughout many areas of Kentucky and Tennessee.
- The first 50 miles of delivery are free!
